#10 – Boston Celtics
2008 NBA Champions
Number 10 Seed: Eastern Conference

These Boston Celtics were a team built in the summer of 2008 with one purpose in mind, to win the NBA Championship. The Celtics acquired All-Stars Kevin Garnett & Ray Allen to combine with their own All-Star Paul Pierce, and formed a very formidable big-three. After a 66-win season, the Celtics earned the number 1 seed and looked ready for a deep playoff run. The Celtics went the full seven games in the first two round, including an incredible series against the reigning Eastern Conference champion LeBron James & the Cavaliers. The Celtics then beat the Pistons in six games to get to their first NBA Finals since 1987. In the Finals, the Celtics faced their arch-rival, the Los Angeles Lakers, lead by MVP Kobe Bryant. With the Celtics up 2-1 in the series, the Celtics overcame a 24-point deficit in game 4, winning the game, and winning the series in six games, giving the Celtics their 17th Championship. Paul Pierce came home with his first NBA Finals MVP award.
