Rams Stars Help LA During Pandemic

Two Los Angeles Rams players are stepping up big-time to help a city that has been hit hard with the coronavirus and the disease it causes, COVID-19. The Rams announced on their website that star QB Jared Goff and OL Andrew Whitworth are teaming up with the Los Angeles National Food Bank to help out the City of Angels during this crisis.

Both Whitworth and Goff are donating $250,000 to the L.A. Regional Food Bank, which equates to 2 million total meals (or one Eddie Lacy Tuesday). Both players were quoted during the press release.

“There are so many people in need right now and we want to do everything we can to help our Los Angeles community. My hope is that we can inspire others to support organizations like the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and United Way’s Pandemic Relief Fund as we come together to face this crisis.”

“Tough times, like what we’re experiencing now, really show you the true value and importance of community,” Whitworth said. “We’re here to wrap our arms around our hurting neighbors, let them know that they aren’t forgotten, and that we are here for them.”

This donation by the Rams players ties into another fundraising event, the “Tel’LA’thon fundraiser. The Rams have partnered with KABC to help raise for the United Way of Greater Los Angeles’ Pandemic Fund and the L.A. Food Bank.

The Tel’LA’thon fundraising event is set to take place on Tuesday, March 24, 2020.

With the ongoing pandemic due to COVID-19, this comes at a great time. It really goes to show you that great people will step up and do great things. These are trying times ahead and so far, it seems are all coming together in this time of need. Great job by the Rams, KABC, and by Goff and Whitworth. Even though I am not a Rams fan (go 49ers), I am proud that you play in Los Angeles.

Much Love,

Brandon
