PGA Tour Update: CT Pan wins RBC Heritage, FedEx Cup Latest, and more!

C.T. Pan (Pan Cheng-tsung) won the RBC Heritage over the weekend for his first PGA tour win, holding off Matt Kuchar and Patrick Cantlay this past Sunday. Pan shot a (-4) 67 on the final day to capture the win, bumping him up to 26th on the FedEx Cup standings (remember, the top 30 make it to the Tour Championship). Pan won two PGA Canada events back in 2015, but this was his very first PGA tour win. Pan finished strong to close out 2018 with two top-5 finishes (T2 at Wyndham & T4 at Dell Technologies), but struggled to start 2019.

While CT Pan’s win was the A-Side of the story, the B-Side was the #1 golfer in the world, Dustin Johnson, shooting a (+6) 77 on the final day, finishing T28 (-4). DJ was in complete control after three days of the RBC Heritage, shooting a 68 on Thursday, 67 on Friday, and another 68 on Saturday to lead the field by one shot at -10. It was a shocking collapse for a player that has been so consistent throughout the last few years, but DJ will have a chance to make it up. He is still #5 in the FedEx Cup standings, so it’s not like this ruined his season.
